How did you go about planning your big day?
“We decided to hire Nova Events to manage the actual day for us, as I didn’t want my mom running around and stressing. Little did we know that Sarah Marie (Nova Events) would be the most amazing woman, she helped us with vendors and really went above an beyond with the decor too.”
What was your favourite part of your wedding day?
When Cam read his vows to me!
Tell us about how you decided on a look and feel for your wedding?
“Well for this we kind of just stayed true to ourselves, I have always had a bohemian sort of style and we just highlighted that. We got married on my parents’ farm and my mom has an incredibly bohemian eclectic style so we stole a lot of things from the house on the farm. I guess I just had a vision of how I wanted the wedding to be and that involved so much help from family members, making dreamcatchers, candles, benches. It was really important for us not to spend money on perishables like flowers because it’s something that goes completely to waste, that being said I am obsessed with flowers so we came up with another plan. My mom and my gran have always dried their flowers in their houses and I knew I wanted to implement some of that into the wedding. so we started drying out our flowers in the house and saving them. We had so many family members and friends bring us their old dried flowers which just looked incredible in the end.”
Any opinions on the wedding industry?
“We just realized how overpriced everything was and how people really do pull the ring out of it. But that being said, we also saw how people went above and beyond to make our day as special as possible.”
Any advice to other couples?
“What really worked for us was that we stayed true to ourselves, that way no matter what happened, or went wrong, we didn’t really mind and just went with the flow.”
